SEASON 2009/2010
Motorplex Tractor Pull 13 March 2010
Once again WATPA & PTPA where invited to perform at the Perth motorplex as a support act for the monster trucks tour of destruction. Again the tractors and drivers didn’t disappoint the crowd, with Downunder and Thunderstruck's mind blowing display of power. Brent and Rob definitely added points towards the Breaker award with Brent destroying another diff on Muddachukka and Rob pulling the tyre off the bead on Maxed out It was good to see Greg and Bradley do well on the night as this was there first appearance at the Motorplex with their tractors Hillbilly & Destractor. Venomous was out there again sounding great with Scotty and Joe at the wheel, many thanks to Gary Ray and Wayne Ridley for making this happen. Michelle was the only female driver for the night driving Chickpower she certainly was a hit with the girls in the crowd. Unbelievable ran honest all night with John at the wheel certainly kept Steve on his toes, both doing good runs and pleasing the crowd. Cameron (nuts and all) was there as well as Russell (Grumpy) continuing there (mine pulls further than yours) Battle, Both enjoyed the night and certainly impressed the crowd with their power. Thanks must go to all the volunteers who worked very hard hooking and un-hooking the pullback vehicle driver Kevin Grylls making sure things went to plan on the track Wayne Lightbody keeping the track repaired also side winder Steve for operating the sledge for the night. The Pit Party certainly went off well again to the delight of the boys and girls getting to sit in the tractors and meeting the drivers, Cameron was popular with the kids as the bags of lollies where certainly a hit. Finally a big thanks must to Steve and Cameron for all there tireless work in getting this event happening also I would like to wish both of them all the best for their trip to the East for the Australian titles at Quambatook on Easter Saturday. Saturday 6th March 2010, Beverley Tractor Pull & Dirt Drag Event. Saturday 6th March 2010, 4th round for the season it was a bit of a slow start but when the first tractor hit the track the Grand stand appeared to be full and eager to see some action. We had Thunderstruck back out for the first time this season and the Ray family with Downunder to put on an Awesome display of Supercharged power in the Open class mini’s. In the super mini’s Venomous was back on the track and sounding better than ever along with Tunnagrunt, Grumpy and Awesome putting on there usual grudge match. First up was young Daniel on Tunnagrunt, not shy on throttle he shot off like a rocket and took out the windrow then out came Grumpy with his brand tyres that look like they can shovel more dirt than a bulldozer and ended up with an 89 mtr pull. Then up come Awesome with a cheeky grin but we he hit the throttle there was not the usual response from engine and the grin was gone with a 19 mtr pull, it was back to the pits for Awesome. We had a few limited minis away for this event leaving us with 4 competitors in this class Chickpower, Rockabilly, Unbelievable & Maxed Out the only ones to steal the points today. Michelle was trying out a set of Cepeks that seem to throw her driving style off which proved to be a great advantage for the boys and Unbelievable was running some very consistent pulls for the day. With a bit of extra time to spare all the kids in the Dirt drags managed to get a few extra fun runs in. Overall we had a great crowd turn out for the day, many new comers for the first time and finished up a bit early for a change. Thanks to everyone that helped out on the day.
