SWIM WITH WILD DOLPHINS - An exhilarating, once
in a lifetime encounter that many dream of, but
few ever have the opportunity to experience.
Well, here's your opportunity. Tomorrow morning
you could join the crew of Rockingham Dolphins
for our daily swim with wild dolphins. We have
been swimming with this group of dolphins for
over 15 years, and it's only because of this
long and trusting relationship that the dolphins
allow us to bring visitors into their world.
You'll cruise out to the sheltered shallows of
Rockinghams calm, clear bays in search of any of
the 150 bottlenose dolphins that we now call our
friends, then it's on with mask and snorkel and
you enter the the water to live your dream.
Suddenly the water is filled with flashing grey
torpedoes. The air is filled with whistles,
splashes and laughter - human and dolphin. Meet
Logo, Boomerang, Ringo and other wild dolphins
in their natural environment. They don't do
tricks, and we don't feed them - we simply spend
some time enjoying each other's company. It's a
wild encounter. Please appreciate that these are
wild encounters. The wildlife we visit are
exceptionally consistent in their habits and
successful encounters are extremely reliable.
But please remember we are visiting wild animals
in their own environment. We ask you to approach
each encounter with caution and respect, and to
never presume that we have any control over
their appearance or actions whatsoever.
DOLPHIN WATCH TOUR - Discover the enchanting
underwater world of Rockingham's wild dolphins
onboard our 'Dolphin Watch Tour'. A magic
experience that's fun for all the family.
Discover the enchanting underwater world of
Rockinghams wild dolphins. See mothers nursing
new born calves, find out how they use stingrays
to catch their dinner or watch the boys showing
off for the ladies. Like humans, socialising is
an important part of dolphin society and if
you're lucky they may include you in their
playful antics. Our experienced and hawkeyed
staff will ensure you make the most of your wild
dolphin experience by interpreting the dolphins
natural behaviours and relating information to
help you understand the mysteries and myths that
surround these fascinating creatures. Our
Dolphin watch vessel has been designed to get
you as close to the dolphins as possible in
comfort and safety. It features a viewing
platform at the front where the dolphins bow
ride just beneath your feet and an underwater
microphone to listen in to the amazing variety
of whistles, clicks and other sounds of dolphin
communication.
